Frequently asked questions

When are the IB exams?

The IB has May and November examination sessions. The November 2026 session runs from 23 October to 13 November; the May 2027 session runs from 23 April to 18 May. See the exam schedule for individual papers.

How much of the final grade comes from written exams?

For many subjects, written examinations contribute 70%–80% of the subject grade, with the remainder from internal assessment. The weighting depends on the subject and level.

When should I start exam preparation?

A structured revision period often begins around three months before exams. Students who need to rebuild foundations may benefit from starting earlier.

How are exam-preparation lessons run?

Online one-to-one lessons are 60 minutes and use Zoom, Tencent Meeting (VooV) or ClassIn. We start with a diagnosis, plan from the exam dates, review questions together and set timed practice between lessons.

Can I prepare for just one subject?

Yes. Each subject can have its own tutor and revision plan.

What if my result is lower than expected?

Your school can advise whether to request an Enquiry upon Results or retake a subject in a later session. Rules and fees should be confirmed with the school's IB coordinator.
